De eerste twee bevestigde bands zaten in de eerste golf van bands die doorbrabraken door We present you the most interesting world bands of this new wave, which
mainly consists of bands that came to prominence via the Internet, and
subsequently became music phenomena performing in the clubs and at the
festivals the world over: Crystal Castles and Does it Offend You, Yeah?
I have always seen Exit Festival as
the benchmark for good, quality stuff, as the opinion maker when it
comes to genuine cultural values. I have to admit I'm happy that the
announcement of the first bands does not include some popular,
ticket-selling performers, but exactly those who are the today and the
tomorrow of the music industry. I think that this is the very energy
this festival has always carried.
Crystal
Castles are probably the most controversial duo to appear in the music
scene in the last couple of years. Their performance could be described
by one word - chaos. The energy they produce is unbelievable, I have
heard them live and I can tell you, they are quite a new experience.
DIOYY? -
is one of the most popular new electro rock bands born at MySpace. One
of the top ten most wanted Last.fm performers at the 2008 chart, which
proves their undisputed talent and quality. A new era band.
Dee Face
Since
the very moment of their creation, in 2004, Toronto duo Crystal
Castles, consisting of Ethan Kath and Alice Glass, have rearranged the
electro pop scene by their uncompromising, intensive sound. Their
singles experienced instant after-release sale, and they have performed
throughout Europe and America, alongside such bands as The Klaxons and
Metric. Glass'
unbelievable voice that makes her stage performance impossible to
ignore, as well as the affinity towards experimenting with
commercials-like, cartoon-like and video games-like melody structures
are what made them popular firstly among MySpace community, and later
on the world's object of adoration. Exit Festival audience will experience them for the first time at Main Stage.
The
band numbered among the most interesting presenters of the British
electro pop new wave and whose sound is largely compared to that of
The Killers, Daft Punk and Justice, Does It Offend You, Yeah?, will
perform at Fusion Stage of the eleventh Exit Festival.
Does It
Offend You, Yeah? Come from Riding, and their first album named "You
Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into" was released in 2006.
The primary band crew consisted of James Rushent, Rob Bloomfield and
Dan Coop, and in 2008 they became richer for a guitar player Morgan
Quaintance, followed by Chloe Duveaux and Matty Derham. Does It Offend
You, Yeah? were the ninth most wanted band at last.fm, and found their
spot at the best alternative music chart at iTunes in America. The
bands is famous for their fierce live performances, often finished by
energetic jumping around the stage and destroyed instruments.
The band's lead singer James Rushent was the co-producer of such hits as "Invaders Must Die" and "Omen" by The Prodigy.
